ESTEE continues its active involvement in the SCIMA (Smart, Connected, Modular and Autonomous Greenhouse) project, aiming at the development of innovative products combining energy production, wastewater treatment and food production.
Supported by the European Union (Interreg funds), Swiss Confederation, Canton de Vaud (Office of Economic Affairs), Plaine de l’Ain Community and in partnership with several industrial and academic partners (Zest, UNIL, Université Savoie Mont Blanc, Institut agricole de l’Etat de Fribourg), the project started in late 2017 and will last until December 2020.
ESTEE is bringing in this project its knowledge on wastewater treatment and food production. Experimental tests are currently running in ESTEE’s premises and will allow to define design rules before starting the prototyping phase later this year.
